Her academic interests later expanded into biology and scientific research, eventually guiding her toward medicine. While she initially considered a career in laboratory science, Dr. Youkeles quickly realized her greatest strength was working directly with people—helping them navigate illness, improve their health, and feel supported through their medical journey.
That realization ultimately shaped a career dedicated to patient care.
Medical Education and Advanced Training
Dr. Youkeles earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where she developed a strong interest in the wide-ranging challenges of internal medicine.
She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, where she gained extensive experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions.
Driven by a passion for respiratory medicine and intensive care, she continued her training with a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center.

Dr. Youkeles spent many years in academic medicine, where she combined clinical care with teaching and research.
